01 — The room
Ember & Oak seats forty guests around a kitchen that refuses to hide. Every plate passes the hearth on its way to your table — you'll smell it before you see it.
The counter seats eight and is reserved for walk-ins, every night, on purpose. Some evenings are worth the wait.

Before you book
Come as you are — the room is casual, the cooking is not. Jackets off, relax.
Usually, yes — with a day of notice. The hearth menu is fixed, but the kitchen adapts courses around most needs. Note it when you book and we confirm by email.
Eight counter seats are held for walk-ins every night, and the cancellation list opens at 4pm by phone. Both are genuinely good bets.
Call the house. For groups of 7–12 we build a table in the private room with its own hearth-side menu.
Street parking on Ankeny and the lot two doors down after 6pm. The #15 bus stops at the corner.
